Barry's Fields Sports Ground
Barry's Fields is Winterslow's Sports Ground and Pavilion situated in Weston Lane. It was named after Barry Matthiae, a much loved member of the community who owned and ran the now lost village bakery on Gunville Road, supplying daily fresh bread and cakes for the Parish. He was also known for his support of sports based in the Parish.
The Pavilion is provided with two spacious changing rooms, with ensuite showers. The two storey building also has, on the ground floor, the main function room which can accommodate 100 people for events, with a kitchen and bar, male, female and disabled toilets, the latter with baby changing facilities and incorporates the referee’s changing room with shower. The full length first floor is a flexible space which can accommodate up to 60 people.
There is also a substantial external toilet facility with integral heating and hot water provided.
WiFi is available on request.
The venue is the home of Clarendon Football Club, which caters for youth football on Saturday mornings and some evenings throughout the season, the Clarendon Seniors side and host the American Football Team, the Salisbury City Marauders, for home games and training on Sunday afternoons. The Pavilion is also home to such diverse use as Winterslow Friendship Day Centre 'Tuesday Club' and Winterslow Youth Zone.
Everyone who enjoys sport, whether playing or spectating, can make use of this great facility and hopefully introduce other sports along-side a wide range of social activities that could be accommodated at the venue.
With the quality of facilities in the Pavilion, extensive grounds, and location, it is an ideal location as a venue for both intimate or large scale weddings.
